As I have made transitions through my life and gotten older, I have found that my personal style has changed greatly over the years. Instead of shopping for the newest trends, I find myself seeking out classic items that are almost like a uniform in my closet. I tend to build my outfits now on what makes me feel good and confident instead of what is “cool” at the moment. My wardrobe is now mainly built out with classic staple items that I can easily add statement pieces to to finish out the looks. Having my uniform of staples has made getting dressed in the morning so much easier and much much faster!
I wanted to share with you a few of my favorite staples that are constantly on repeat. I have to admit that I own three pairs of these jeans. I have not found a skinny jean yet that fits the way this style of the Citizens of Humanity fit. They do not stretch out over time and the color does not fade. They might be a bit pricer than other brands out there, but they are a great investment piece that will last a great amount of time longer than a cheaper brand. Another favorite staple of mine is this brown faux leather jacket. Every wardrobe needs at least one black and one brown leather jacket. A leather jacket adds a touch of classic edge, and is the perfect accessory to finish any outfit.
